Steel and its role in food exports
Food Exports in Mexico. The agricultural and finished food production industry in Mexico represents more than 877 million Mexican pesos per year (according to INEGI, 2020).
Food exports range from vegetables to finished yogurt, which comes from Mexican producers and suppliers who, in compliance with certain certifications, participate in these foods that are not only marketed in Mexico, but also in other countries.
To meet these requirements of the health authorities that approve food in other countries for food exports, Mexican producers must produce under controlled environments that allow the appearance and quality required to enter those countries and be consumed by their inhabitants.
Steel in the agricultural industry for food exports
These environments are made up of greenhouses or macro tunnels that, in the case of primary inputs such as vegetables and fruits, ensure that they grow to the size and cleanliness required.
These structures are made of tubular structures that undergo a galvanizing process and, when reinforced and formed with a system with plastic membranes, perform the function of protecting and being very durable for several years.
In Food Exports, farmers who today want their products to be exported must ensure quality and hygiene through these systems.
Today, a variety of exotic crops such as blackberries and blueberries are being grown alongside traditional crops such as lettuce and carrots. Thanks to the care provided by greenhouses, these crops develop optimally, which contributes to strengthening the food industry in our country.
