Welding is a process by which two or more pieces (typically metals) are joined by partially or totally melting them. The process consists of using heat and pressure, together with a filler material, creating a strong and durable bond between the pieces, providing high resistance, stability and durability, capable of resisting large loads and tensions without breaking the bond.
Welding is essential in the manufacturing of machinery, industrial equipment, metal structures, construction, automotive industry and many other fields, due to its efficiency and ease of use.
There are several types of welding, such as electric arc welding, gas welding, spot welding, among others, each with its own specific techniques and applications.
At Serviacero Componentes we have MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, which is an electric arc welding process in which a continuous wire electrode is used that is fed through a welding gun. During the process, an electric arc is generated between the electrode and the base material to be welded. The gun also supplies inert gas (argon or carbon dioxide), to protect the weld area from atmospheric contamination and ensure a high quality joint.
Advantages of MIG welding:
High productivity:
It is a relatively fast and efficient welding process, making it ideal for industrial and manufacturing applications.
Versatility:
It can be used to weld a wide range of metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, among others.
Less splashing (sizzling):
It tends to generate less splashes, providing greater cleanliness in each assembly.
precise control:
It allows precise control over wire feed speed, welding current and gas flow, making it easier to weld in different positions and metal thicknesses.
