Configured blanks are specifically shaped silhouettes up to .500″ thick according to the customer’s needs; the process of cutting a flat geometric shape or “blank” consists of introducing a steel coil into a press with a die, thus saving you operational steps and materials in your plant.
We feed our cutting lines with rolls progressively so that they operate at optimal speeds and produce multiple “blanks” per press cycle, which allows for reductions in time and cost in production processes under one roof, such as the % of scrap and the logistics costs of having more than one supplier. In addition, the slitting process is eliminated and the returnable pallet process is promoted.
Benefits of Configured Blanks
Car, truck and consumer goods manufacturers have discovered the benefits of outsourcing the first step in their parts production to us to achieve greater speed and efficiency. Some products made with Serviacero blanks include: parts for automotive and truck chassis, wheels for cars and trucks, components for heavy agricultural and construction equipment, fire extinguishers, propane tanks and compressors.
We have experts to advise you and find the proposal that generates greater value to your processes; We ensure complete compliance with base material specifications and final dimensional tolerances.
Processing Capacity of Configured Blanks
The Press line has the capacity to process rolls of up to 30 tons, with a thickness of 0.040” to 0.500”, with a roll width of up to 72”, capacity-STon 1500, Ram stroke of 12” and Shut Height opening of 62 ”.
