Pickling

In Pickling, the primary oxide is removed from the hot strip. In this process, the steel is passed through a series of tanks with hydrochloric acid that chemically remove the oxide from the surface; The chemical reaction is a combination of the following factors: acid concentration, temperature and line speed (acid exposure time); Subsequently, the steel roll is passed through a rinse tub to remove the acid, then oil is applied to the surface of both sides and it is rolled again.

Our Pickling Line is the newest on the market with state-of-the-art technology (Push-Pull Acid Pickling), it also has cutting-edge technology in shape correction with a leveler for thicknesses up to ¼”; which allows us to offer complementary services such as tape or sheet cutting under one roof, saving time and transportation costs.

The line also has pre-washing equipment that allows us to re-strip rolls that have already been stripped and that suffered from oxidation or require shape correction; to recover them and turn them into first class material.
