Hot rolled steel is the primary product in the steel-making process, it is produced at very high temperatures (1,100 ° C approx.) by a thermo-mechanical process where the thickness of the material is reduced by passing it through rolling stands, starting from either integrated or slab mill the mini-mill process. This material is mainly used in the construction industry and heavy machinery.
Features
Its chemical composition has slightly more carbon (up to 0.25%) which causes it to have higher mechanical properties albeit less formability vs HSLA grades.
Norms
We have a wide variety of grades from low carbon steel from deep drawing to high-strength low alloy (HSLA), which meet the requirements of international standards such as ASTM, SAE, EN, etc.. as well as automotive norms: GMW, FORD, CHRYSLER.
Uses
Structures, bridges, buildings, wheels, automotive parts.
