Types of Steel Trusses for Roofs and Bridges
Steel trusses are already manufactured and assembled structures, which are designed to function as support for roofs or frames of warehouses, stores, factories, plants, buildings, houses, residences, bridges, among other types of constructions.
The joining and assembly of these structures must be carried out carefully and under adequate analysis.
There are several types of armor, which have the main objective of supporting large loads, and they also stand out for their resistance to conditions such as air, rain, snow, among others to which they may be subjected. In this article we will introduce them to you and we will talk about each one of them.
Type A Steel Armor
This type of truss is triangular in shape, it is made of profiles, its support point is located in the lower center or base of the triangle. Thanks to its shape, an adequate distribution of the load is achieved and it is ideal for roofs where it is sought to fulfill a drainage function.

Pratt triangular steel trusses
This type of truss is triangular in shape, made from profiles and reinforced with tension supports both diagonally and perpendicular to the structure. It is recommended that it be used when covering spans ranging from 12 to 38 meters.

Steel Trusses with Master Post
This type of truss is a simple structure made of profiles. Its support point is located in the lower center or base of the triangle. It also has two other supports or support points that are connected to the main one. This gives the structure a greater load capacity.

Steel armor of string and bow
This type of truss is characterized by its dome shape, it also has support points which form internal triangles, and it is mainly used in small constructions.

Mansard type steel trusses
This type of armor has a shape very similar to that of a mountain, there are several patterns that form triangles, thanks to its shape it has a great support capacity.

Scissor-type steel trusses
This type of armor resembles the shape of a pair of scissors, stands out for its great resistance and load capacity, providing projects with protection and an avant-garde appearance.

Polonceau type steel armor
This type of structure is not very conventional, its shape resembles that of a paper airplane, it has triangular and semi-triangular patterns. They require being made by qualified personnel and are more expensive compared to the rest.

Sawtooth Steel Armor
This type of armor has a shape very similar to the teeth of a saw, and is commonly used in areas where natural light is distributed and ventilation is allowed.

Howe Armor
This type of truss is used for bridges, its shape can be triangular or trapezoid, its internal support patterns are placed in reverse.

Warren Armor
This type of truss is also used for bridges. Its structure and shape is composed of isosceles and equilateral triangles. They are used for large projects where spans ranging from 12 to 38 meters are covered.

Flat Pratt type truss
This type of truss is trapezoid in shape, it is very similar to the Howe type, but this one is more elongated, it is also used for bridges.

Fink Armor
This type of truss is used for bridges, its triangular shape allows it to provide rigidity, strength and support, internally its support points are isosceles triangles.

Delta armor
This type of truss is in the shape of an elongated triangle, and is also used in bridges. Its name comes from the Greek letter delta. Thanks to its design, it can withstand horizontal and vertical loads.

Tri-articulated frame truss
This type of truss is used when covering spans greater than 30 meters. It is constructed of two frames that are joined in the center and have several support points internally. Its shape resembles an arch.
